My Background

I'm Kim McCollum, a 40-something mom and writer who loves to travel just for the sheer pleasure of it. I love to push boundaries, but not too far. You won't find me intentionally swimming with sharks or scaling frozen waterfalls , but I do enjoy getting out of my comfort zone. I have cliff dived in Jamaica, jet skied with whales in Mexico and stumbled home from bars at 3AM in Harlem. I consider them calculated risks all for the sake of living life to the fullest. I am the mom of a blended family of 5 teenagers, so I have gone prematurely grey and drink wine nightly. We also have 4 dogs, so my home is full of love, but rarely tidy.

I have lived on both coasts of the United States, spent a summer in Germany, and a semester in Japan and now call Bozeman, Montana home. The longest I have lived anywhere was NYC for 8 years, so the dust has never settled on me for long. I do think the dust might settle here in Bozeman, at least for half of the year. Having traveled so much, I feel qualified to say that Bozeman is a fantastic place to call home. But I am a wanderlust at heart, so who knows where my next adventure might take me.

I started this blog to document some of the amazing experiences I am so lucky to enjoy. My father is a successful, self-made businessman, so I am incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to explore some of his amazing haunts among celebrities and other wealthy individuals. My parents divorced when I was 5 and I grew up with my mom, who was quite poor, so I believe this has allowed me to keep both feet on the ground while I engage in lavish adventures of my dad's kind. I hope this keeps me grounded while I explore the lifestyles of the rich and famous and use this blog to chronicle these experiences. Of course, not all of my adventures are luxurious. I also enjoy camping and backpacking and generally getting dirty, so I will include those escapades as well. Most of all, I believe this earth is here for us to enjoy, so I do my best to make that happen.
